This institution was created by a small group of Muslim brothers and sisters who saw a need to have funds readily available to bury our fellow Muslims.
BURY ME MUSLIM INC. is a nonprofit organization serving the ummah in the Washington Metropolitan area.
As-Sadaqat (Zakat) are only for the poor and those employed to collect (the funds); and to attract the hearts of those who have been inclined (towards Islam); and to free the captives; and for those in debt; and for Allah’s Cause, and for the wayfarer (a traveller who is cut off from everything); a duty imposed by Allah. And Allah is All Knower, All-Wise. (SURA 9:60)
Bury Me Muslim Inc. will establish a strong network with the Muslim ummah in the Washington Metropolitan area to perform workshops on all aspects of the Janazah; and provide handouts, which will include a Muslim identification card noting that the deceased is a Muslim and must not be embalmed. These workshops will also provide a clear understanding of complying with Qur’an and Sunnah for the Janazah; and stress the importance of being an active donor to this worthy cause, thereby guaranteeing recurring revenue to sustain and further expand the organization.
Maintaining a solid clientele of financial contributors will be critical to our success. One hundred percent of Bury Me Muslim revenue from individuals, Masjids, Muslim Embassies, Muslim-owned businesses and other Believers interested in our goals within this endeavor will be used for continuous operations. We anticipate that we will be able to manage our consumable expenses through the pursuit of in-kind donations from Muslim-owned businesses and individuals, and inexpensive means of purchasing bulk items, i.e., pre-packaged Kifans for deceased persons and cemetery plots.
We will assist any and all Muslims throughout the Janazah process.
Our goal, first and foremost, is to financially support the burial of those indigent Muslims in accordance to Qur’an and Sunnah.
